One of the most common mistakes that men commit is hitting the gym right away and then working out randomly without realizing that physical exercise must be systematic. A systematic fitness program involves both nutrition and exercise plans. The exercise plan, however, is more complicated than the nutrition plan because it consists of two components: weight training and cardiovascular workouts.

For men's fitness, diet is a very important component. Everything that you have been doing at the gym will be useless if it is not coupled with a healthy and nutritious diet. - Drinking enough amount of water
Men perspire more than women when they are working out so they have to replenish their body more often. The recommended amount of water for an individual is no less than 64 oz daily. Fitness enthusiasts suggest that the adequate amount of water for you is 50% your current body weight, that is, 80 oz of water daily if your weight is 160 pounds.
- Eating small meals
Instead of eating full meals, consider eating in smaller meals. Small meals taken on regular intervals keep the body fuelled which in turn speeds up the body's metabolism. It also prevents you from craving unhealthy foods which is a nemesis of any men's fitness program.
- Filling your plate with different colors
All the needed vitamins, minerals and nutrients cannot be found in just one food item. Choose and eat various fruits and/or vegetables with every small meal. The combination of fruits and vegetables is very important for fitness for men diet plans.
EXERCISE PLAN
1. Weight Lifting
Lifting weight can do wonders to your body. You have to lift weight for atleast 3 days every week. Consider dedicating each day to a particular body part. For each day and each body part, you have to perform about 3 to 4 fitness exercises to achieve optimal results. Remember to give your body rest after each workout day, which means that you need a rest-day after each workout-day. Our muscles need about 24 to 48 hours of resting for it to recover from the pain and injury, a simple truth that not all fitness programs will tell you.
2. Cardio exercises
When it comes to fitness for men, cardio exercises are usually combined with weight lifting. The latter aims at helping muscles grow while the former aids at fighting body fat. Like weight lifting, cardio exercises must also be performed for about 3 to 4 times on a weekly basis at progressive intensity. Cardio exercises must be conducted for no less than 20 minutes but no more than an hour for optimal results.
